Fred van Eijk 
An international businessman with a strong background in general management and communications, who gained a variety of skills and expertise around the world.
Since 2006 Fred has a recognisable and full time involvement with Travel Counsellors Ltd., one of the world’s most successful travel agency firms, as their General Manager for the Netherlands. Following 7 months of consultancy. Within 4 years Travel Counsellors Nederland BV has grown to a nationwide franchise organisation with more than 90 travel advisors and is leader in the segment for personal travel advice with a turnover of over EUR 15M and achieving continuous growth in a depressed market. www.travelcounsellors.nl
In Spring 2003 Fred was named Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Tourism Authority and Member of Qatar National Hotels Company (QNHC) which owns several of the country's leading hotels as well as a variety of tourist attractions. He joined the organisations from MyTravel plc, where he was Chief Executive Officer for the group's operations in the Benelux countries. Prior to that, he served as London-based Managing Director of Flying Colours plc.
Fred’s career also encompassed Forte and Le Meridien Hotels, firstly as the group's international Travel Trade Director and later as a Board Member.

Created by Fred van Eijk to provide management consulting services to a wide range of businesses, organisations, tourist destinations and countries. Aiming to assist and support management worldwide to reach its goals through improved performance, a defined positioning, increased awareness, better communications and a clear identity. Helping Hands
Aiming to advanc children's education and to relieve children that are suffering today from poverty, sickness and distress. In 2009 Helping Hands created a partnership with the Xtreme Football Academy in Vaalwater, South Africa. Teenage boys are learning the disciplines as a team member and are provided with basic needs such as accommodation, daily meals, education and guidance. Helping Hands also entered a partnership with the Dutch-Moroccan foundation Al-Amal. Providing wheelchairs to people in need in several Moroccan provinces. Read more on Helping Hands webpage!
Fred is a fellow member of the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT). Inaugurated in 1956, the Institute seeks to develop and maintain professional standards throughout the travel industry for the benefit of its members. Fred was presented with an award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the success of the ITT Conference 2004 held in Qatar.
